Cracked Up

“I know my family. So I’m going to tell you how eventful the past year has been starting at the beginning of last summer. I’m not going to hold back on you. I’m going to give you the truth. The truth is, my family is CRACKED UP. And when I say cracked up, I mean cracked up.”
– Indie Philips

What started off as a simple summer writing assignment turned into an account of the crazy antics that ensued within the Philips’ household. Thirteen-year-old Indie promises the honest truth when describing what goes down during a life changing year with her family. Beneath all the fights, tears, and accidental fires, always narrated with just a tinge of sarcasm, Indie struggles to define the meaning of family and to find a place among her own cracked up version.

Lindsay N. Norville received her B.A. from Emerson College in Boston, MA. She wrote this novel when she was thirteen years old. She has also been published in the online journals, www.pankmagazine.com and http://numerocinqmagazine.com/. She is working on a couple more projects that she hopes to publish in the future.

She would like to send a special thank you to all those who helped in the process of publishing this book, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York, Melissa Batalin, and of course, her mother.
